As Executive Director at the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism for the past seventeen years, Lisa Borges has a proven track record of success in leadership and fund-raising, and she is excited to bring those skills to Central and Western Massachusetts’s FCA Leadership Board. “It is the combination of sports and faith that drew me to FCA. I have watched both of my children play sports since they were very young, and I love seeing how the faith component makes a difference in their lives as they navigate the ups and downs of youth sports. I look forward to working with FCA to share that message with the thousands of youth that play sports here in Massachusetts,” Borges said.
During her time with the Flutie Foundation, Borges has helped raise over eighteen million dollars through various fundraisers and the establishment of partnerships with loyal corporate sponsors and donors. In 2012, she saw a need for providing a network for the celebrity and professional team foundations in the New England area and founded the Celebrity and Athlete Foundation Forum to help facilitate communications and best practices among like-minded organizations.
Borges holds a Juris Doctor degree from the New England School of Law and completed a certificate program in Nonprofit Human Service Management from Clark University. She resides in Milford, MA with her husband Jimmy and their two children, where she is an active community volunteer. Borges serves on the Global Leadership Summit team at Bethany Community Church and is on the Executive Committee of Advocates for Autism of Massachusetts. She also enjoys mentoring young adults in developing life skills, and college graduates in careers in the sports business world. Running, cycling, skiing and spending time with family are among her favorite pasttimes.
